Here, an oilfield refinery asked us to create a scenario where a pipeline patrol aircraft crashed into it. Flying low and slow in order to examine the pipelines and tanks, the pilot lost control resulting in an uncontrolled landing at the truck filling station.
There were several objectives: To assess the refinery’s own safety conventions, to analyze its communication protocols both internally and with local authorities, and to test the effectiveness of its safety training among its own personnel.
